Solid

Little Pita Pocket had her first solid food experience tonight. The pediatrician said she was showing some of the major signs of being ready to start eating real food (ie pulling my plate of dinner out of my hand in a grip He-Man would be jealous of)so we conducted an experiment.

We sat her in her Bumbo and poured some rice cereal on to the Bumbo tray. Her fingers are constantly in her mouth so we thought some "finger painting" with the cereal might be a neat way for her to experience the texture and taste. Sure enough, within a few short minutes, her sleeves were covered in rice cereal and globs were thrown up around her ears, nose, and mouth. It was a fairly successful night I think.

Major parenting mistake #1: We didn't use a bib. Seriously, those things were invented for a reason. if i could cover my babe in a thin coating of Teflon, I would be happy.

Oh and Pita is mobile now. She is steamrolling around the house. Flipping front to back to front to back and so on. and boy is she fast! Pretty impressive seeing that she just started doing this YESTERDAY.

Here is one last picture from Mother's Day. This is a 4 generation picture that I'm so glad we were able to capture. And yes, my mother's day was WONDERFUL.

PS. Yes that is my grandma wearing an Obama t-shirt. It matches her commemorative Obama keepsake plate that she was given for Christmas.
