Kiss everlasting French Manicure

Check out these lovely ladies! I received a  set of Kiss everlasting French Manicure nails from Influenster and I have been SO pleased with them. While I need to tell you that I received them free for testing purposes, the exposure to this brand will have me coming back to purchase more and more.

I remember getting fake nails at the drugstore as a kid and they were so awful.  They didn't fit or stay put. A waste of money. Getting this in the SpringVoxBox was the perfect opportunity to see how far the industry has come in 20+ years.

The photo above shows my nails FOUR days after putting them on. They have soaked in the bathtub, rough housed with kids, gone through extensive house cleaning and they look good as new. I have not had any nails come loose and for under $5, this is a great way to look pulled together. I'm a fan!

Some Kitchen Inspiration

When we moved in to our house, many of the rooms were painted this hot red/orange color. While not terrible, I'm much more in to the cooler tones.

My hope is to repaint my kitchen and the scheme below is just something i threw together. The photographs are from Young House Love and they are what have inspired my kitchen makeover.

I was even able to find some of the artwork that we have in our kitchen and play around with them on the inspiration kitchen photos.

I'm digging the color.

Penny

Well hello there!  Take a look at our newest addition to the Pocket family.  Introducing, by popular demand, baby Penny!  She is a 7 week old basset hound that has stolen all of our hearts.

Can't you smell the puppy breath through your computer screen?

If you have been with me from the beginning, you will know that Hot Pocket and I have been involved with fostering basset hounds before we had our kids. We always knew we would want another one someday and when I saw this little sweetie, I twisted Hot Pocket's arm and pleaded for her to come and live with us.

Pita Pocket loves the puppy.  Tiny Pocket doesn't like that Penny tried to chew on her pant legs but finds it HILARIOUS when she whines and cries (how rude).

Our nights have been taken over by dog crying and potty training but things are improving, even only 2 nights in.

Welcome to the managerie, Penny!

Check me out on Super Mom Tested

Hello my little friend nuggets!

Yeah, it's been too long. Way too long. But instead of doing a half-bum approach to try and cover the last year in a paragraph or two, let's just say life is good. You feel me??

I have been selected to be involved as a contributing writer for www.SuperMomTested.com.  This is great group of moms who share moments of inspiration, tips, tricks, and anecdotes of daily life that are great to read.  All of us lovely ladies live in Utah however the information we are writing about certainly has appeal outside of state.

Today marks my FIRST post with the Super Mom Tested group and it certainly gave me an itch to get back to my personal blog and make a few updates (ahem, start from scratch).  I think being paired up with this group will light that fire back underneath me to write again. I really do enjoy it.

The most daunting part of this whole blog thing is Yikes! I don't know how to make the blog look pretty! This page practically looks like a 4th grader whipped it up during their computer science class!

I suppose, if you stick with me, you will get to see my little bloggy wings stretch and grow. Or perhaps I will just drink another cup of coffee, eat this chocolate donut that is looking oh so spectacular, and I will clip my fingernails.

Ta ta for now, friends.

Say what now?

Yes. It's true. I've resurfaced to the blogosphere after a two year hiatus. And things have changed.

insert picture of Tiny Pocket, now 18 months old.

and yes, Pita Pocket is bigger and more mouthy.

What about Hot Pocket? Indeed, he is still around as well, and we are happier than ever.

And when we aren't rushing to get kids out the door first thing in the morning, dancing to the Marcarena in the kitchen, or tucking the kids into bed at night, you will still find us enjoying each others company, taking a swig of our margaritas (or coffee), and watching bad reality television. You know, TRUE LOVE.

Not much has changed and yet, everything has changed. Life has never been so lively. And all you guys need to be invited to the Pocket Party.

Embracing you all in the inter-web.  It's nice to be back!
