Shots and Thrills

Hello there!

Happy to report that Pita had her vaccinations Friday afternoon and I came prepared with a small arsenal of baby friendly goodies to make her feel better after. Turns out, she was a trooper. She looked up at us like, "Is that it? Really?" I even tried to nurse her afterwards as I heard it helps soothe them but 2 minutes after the shots she stopped crying and fell asleep on her own.

The whole night I worried that she would get sick and have a fever, but little Pita again shocked her mommy and ended up acting normal all weekend. i guess she seemed a little sleepier than usual but that's it!

When the doctor came in to take a look at her he told us that she is a 'perfect baby' and is in the 50th percentile for length and weight. We sure can't argue with that!

I have been a little gloomy this weekend because I go back to work a week from today and as a pick-me-up, Hot Pocket bought me Photoshop Elements. All afternoon and in between Pita's naps, I'm playing around with this software. I seriously have no idea what I'm doing, but the picture above is something I was playing around with. The original picture is below.

I assume you noticed that your otherwise charming child is flipping off the camera. Are you working on building her anti-establishment bona fides from an early age or is she just naturally sassy?

I should have known I was in for trouble when she flipped off me and the ultrasound tech when I was 7 months pregnant.
