For those who might remember, a few years ago I was admitted to the hospital off and on for 3 weeks because I was throwing up blood and had severe stomach pain. After doing an endoscopy, they discovered a HUGE ulcer at the bottom of my stomach that was one of the largest they had ever seen. Guess I have a pretty good threshold for pain, eh? Basically it was probably the lowest time of my life because I had to be in hospital away from my home, friends, and Pocket and I couldn't eat for weeks.
Jump to my dr appt Tuesday. i briefly mentioned that my hematocrit was low when I came in to the hospital after the car accident and it appears that my hematocrit is still low two weeks later. after going over some of my symptoms, my doc is concerned as to why exactly I am anemic. Apparently, my iron is in tip-top shape which means there is another reason why I have anemia. After going over my symptoms, she wants to rule out a GI bleed or ulcer. yippee skippy for me! I see a GI doc on Monday and I'm guessing they are going to want to rescope me. boooo. hissss.
I am very happy to report that Little Miss Pocket is doing well! She is actually measuring a little big! My stomach is definitely bigger and the doctor was surprised how much a change in just 4 weeks. She is moving around a lot and apparently loves the taste of cheetos and hot chocolate. And she REALLY likes it when Hot Pocket sings. I noticed this a few weeks ago when we got together with friends and played RockBand. Pocket couldn't stop singing and she couldn't stop doing somersaults. As for how tired I am all the time, so long as she is healthy, I figure i'll get used to it.
I think we have picked out a name but we will be keeping it under wraps until her big day. In the meantime, we have nicknamed her Angelina because it goes so well with our last name. Think about it...
