The Hot Pocket went out this morning to fire up the lawnmower and lo and behold, someone had stolen it. We called the police but there isn't much they can do about it.
We took this opportunity to meet some of our neighbors (yes we moved into the neighborhood 2 years ago this weekend and we are just NOW introducing ourselves.) while i know we don't live in the nicest of all neighborhoods, i never felt unsafe at night when the hot pocket was at work. Plus there is nothing like two wimpy dogs with big barks to scare off intruders.
After talking to one neighbor he mentioned that there was a string of big break-ins on our street 6 months ago. Apparently there would be one guy that sat in a plumbing truck at the end of our street and would watch to see when people would leave their house and then his buddies would clean them out. I NEVER KNEW ABOUT THIS UNTIL NOW! So I guess I owe a lot to my little harmless pups that have barks like rottweilers hungry for burglar blood.
Lesson to this story: introduce yourself to the neighbors as soon as possible so that they have your back when you aren't home.
Now we have to find another lawn mower but we don't have a lot of cash...any ideas?
